the one foolish act & the response the one foolish act: the law i've broken form his family his life stolen the tragedy of murder i only meant to plunder the knife not meant to kill it was only for my stomach to fill to get the cash he had after that i would have fled no intentions of harm but he had to sound his alarm in a moment of panic i stabbed and i left quick he was lying on the floor, his blood flowing - more and more i saw, i ran, i felt regret the foolishness of myselfish act the knife and blood were one at that moment i was stunned the guilt slowly eating me from that moment on i'll never be free to the station i ran to let them put cuffs on my hand the trial observed the verdict passed to the gallows i was sent and to hell i will descend the response: the poetry that you write should not be hidden out of sight it should be written in times of respite done only when the moment is right i applaud your unusual bravery though it seems widely out of place and sigh at the grey-tragedy of your answers written without pace the AQ calls for personal response but please do not feel too creative we are not in the glided Renaissance and rhyming couplets can prove destructive but i see your talent remains yet to be seen correspond with me at pigeonhole fifteen |
