thoughts V FOR VENDETTA: its BNW meeting HT and expressing BLAKE'S ideas. fucking awesome. to me, its like a play, just filmed. is V really the protagonist? honestly, i don't see him and the chancellor as different. both want things their way and both get it their way. they don't really give a fuck about the others around them. and they all say that they do what they do for the "greater good" of mankind. but then, who is to actually decide whether or not what they do would benefit those around them? why doesn't man see that democracy and the totalitarian government are largely the same? like how democracy is just rule by the strong majority and totalitarian-ism is just the rule of a strong individual? does it mean that just because a majoirty (more than one) feels the same about an issue, it will be the right judgement to make? now the issue of whether V was a terrorist or a freedom fighter. the terms used in the previous sentence are very much dependent on the point of view of the bystander. for instance, those in favour of the regime would see him as a threat hence, a terrorist. however those who were surpressed by the government would see him as a hero. so whos right and who isn't? no one knows. is revenge always the way to end a vendetta? whatever happened to belief of forgiveness. well, maybe when man truly sees the ugly side of his fellow counterpart, he dies to himself. he sees no more emotion and feels no more pain. all he longs to see is the revenge he can have on his enemy. even then, the revenge is no longer about the pain he can induce, but rather just setting out to achieve what he initially made himself believe as truth. maybe the main motif of the play was to just portray to you a world full of restrictions, and how it sucks to be in one. then one day a nice HERO comes along and saves you all. fansatsy? fairytale? YES. the state is modelled after the nazi police state. see the irony? its fucking BRITAIN and they have actually followed the Axis. whatever happened to the belief of DEMOCRACY? does this mean that cracks in the system are finally showing? and lastly, if V were really the hero, why did he have so much hate? aren't all heros meant to be angelic? well. on the contrary, maybe the devil wins too. |
